FAQs

Is there a tuition?

As a public charter school, there is no tuition. The school is FREE!

If I live in district do I still need to apply?

Red Granite Charter School is open to all District students. All students must submit an application. If more students apply than there are spots, the in-district students are still subject to the lottery held on March 5th to establish acceptance and a potential waitlist.

I am not in district, can I still attend?

Out of district students are referred to as Open Enrollment students. Open enrollment students may also attend the school in accordance with state law and District policies. These students will need to submit a RGCS Enrollment Application AND an Open Enrollment Application.

What if I am in district and don’t get in OR do not want to attend?

Public School Alternatives:  Students who are residents of the District and are not admitted or who do not wish to attend may attend one of the other public school options in the Wausau School District, depending on the grade level of the student.  Students may also seek enrollment in other schools open to them through the open enrollment process.

Red Granite Charter School will not discriminate in admission or retention on the grounds of age, race, color, national origin, religion, creed, handicap, disability, gender, sexual orientation, physical condition, or other human differences. We will work to retain a student demographic aligned with our community and make special efforts to reach families who are typically underrepresented.
